Ill. man arrested over bathroom images of girls
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) — An Illinois man has been arrested after police investigating a report of a camera in a Champaign coffee shop's restroom found pictures of girls and women taken in bathrooms over a number of years.
Federal court officials say 57-year-old Michael Denight of Mahomet is preliminarily charged with producing, transporting and collecting child pornography. He doesn't yet have an attorney and hasn't entered a plea. A call to his home wasn't returned.
Champaign police say a woman saw a camera in the restroom on Feb. 11 and noticed a man quickly leave the business. Employees found no camera but spotted a phone that led police to Denight.
At his home, police say they found images of women and teen-age girls taken in restrooms between 2000 and 2007.
